Using a number of practical applications as examples,  this talk will review a range of prediction methods and noise control strategies in acoustics, dynamics, aeroacoustics and vibroacoustics.  


Having recently retired as a Professorial Fellow and Director of Enterprise for ISVR Consulting, the consultancy group of the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research at the University of Southampton, Malcolm Smith now works with the group as an Associate Principal Consultant.  He is a technical specialist in the application of prediction methods for noise and vibration control, low noise design and physical acoustics, and in the application of measurement methods to validate predictions.
