Dr Chan received his Bachelor degree in Aerospace Engineering with First Class Honours from RMIT University in 2008. He continued his PhD study with RMIT University in affiliation with Defence Science and Technology (DST) Group, conducting research on military helicopter structural integrity and obtained his PhD degree in 2014. Before joining Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, he worked as a subcontractor for DST Group on research in enhancing techniques used for assessing structural integrity of Australian Defence Force’s combat aircraft.
